I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
